Coach Edwards Sr.

Coach Edwards comes to Colorado Northwestern Community College after spending 10 seasons as an assistant for the men’s team as Park University.   Edwards helped coached the Pirates to 16 wins in the 2007-2008 season, advancing to the semifinals of the 2008 NAIA Independent Region Tournament in Orangeburg, S.C.   Coach Edwards also coached an All-American who was also named NAIA Player of the Week at Park for the second-straight year in 2007-2008, as Jon Meriweather earned three All-America distinctions as well as two national weekly honors during the season.

The 2006-2007 season, has been the highlight of his coaching career thus far.   That year Coach Edwards helped guide Pirated to a 26-6 mark, 2007 Independent Region Champions, and in the same year he helped take the Pirates to the NAIA Sweet 16 at Kansas City’s Municipal Auditorium. The tournament trip was the third in school history for the Pirates and marked the second-longest run in the tournament for a Park University squad.

Coach Edwards has worked several camps and clinics throughout his career.  He also directed and coached the Northland Kings AAU Youth Basketball Program.  His program sent several players to NCAA Div. II; NAIA I & II;  and NJCAA programs.
