History
The Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) Foundation was formed in 1979, for the purpose of expanding the college's resources through grant funding requests, corporate/individual solicitation activities, and special fundraising events. The CNCC Foundation strives to ensure the college's financial stability by obtaining needed funds for necessary programs and for the purpose of offsetting the cost of educating our students through effective foundation involvement.
Mission
The Colorado Northwestern Community College Foundation is governed by a voluntary board of business and community leaders throught the Northwest quadrant of the state. As a Foundation, our goal is to solicit and channel funds to benefit the Colorado Northwestern Community College community as a whole. Foundation support enables CNCC to:
- Enhance Instructional Programs
- Improve College Facilities
- Offer Student Scholarships
- Fund Special Projects that the State of Colorado, the Rangely Junior College District or the Board of Control can't fund
Foundation Board
The Colorado Northwestern Community College Foundation is governed by a voluntary board of business and community leaders across the Northwest quadrant of the state.
Role of a Board Member
- Represent and promote the college favorably in the community at large
- Open doors into the community, business and industry
- Exercise leadership in setting policy, planning and finances for the Foundation
- Become familar with the college's goals and objectives
- Keep current on college issues
- Act as advisors to the governing board and president when called upon
- Attend board and committee meetings
- Identify prospective donors
- Attend and participate in events
- Participate in cultivation and asking opportunities
- Write letters of support and/or appreciation
- Provide financial support for the Foundation and act as examples by personally investing in the college
