In the fall of 2008 Colorado Northwestern broke ground for a new campus that will be built in Craig.  Phase I is a 38 acre parcel that will be developed for a variety of buildings.  Currently two of the first three buildings are in the design stage.  In December of 2009 the plans for the Academic and Career Technical buildings will be ready to bid out for construction.  Anticipated start date for the construction is Spring of 2010.  The 15,000 sq.ft. Career Technical Building will house the Massage Therapy and Cosmetology programs which will be open to the public to allow CNCC students to develop their practical skills.  In addition this building will house the following programs:  Power Plant Technology, Industrial Electrician, Mine Safety Training.  Finally this building will have the space an ability for CNCC to offer specialized mine training for local and regional mines.  The anticipated occupancy for this building is Fall of 2010.

The second building will be an approximate 70,000 sq.ft. Academic Building.  This facility will be home to all of our general academic programs including Nursing.  This building will have several large and medium classrooms, science laboratories, a library, an adult learning assistance center and a student lounge area.  The anticipated occupancy for this building is January 2011.

The third building which will soon go out to design is the first of six, 32 bed residences hall for students.  The facility will have eight, four person pods.  Each pod will have two double bedrooms, study/TV room, a full kitchen, and shower facilities.  The anticipated occupancy for this building is Spring or Fall of 2011.
