From September 16-20, Craig’s Historic Downtown Park will
transform into a cultural and historic display that takes
visitors back in time to the early 1900’s and the life of
sheep herders and settlers who lived in sheep wagons. Event
creators, Janet Gerber (Museum of Northwest Colorado) and
Mary Shearer (Colorado Northwestern Community College) are
putting finishing touches to the line-up of activities which
include school group tours, speakers, and pioneer crafts and
displays. On Friday evening a reception will be held at the
museum featuring Ann Macdonald, the descendant of several
old-time ranch families. At the conclusion of this year’s
Sheep Wagon Days on Saturday a western dinner/dance
scholarship fundraiser for the college’s nursing school will
be held. Museum tours will be held from 5:00-6:00 p.m. with
a barbeque dinner and dancing to follow. Nursing students
will help with the event. For an event schedule call Janet
(824-6360) or Mary (824-1135).
