Dear Aviation Enthusiast;

Thank you for your interest in Colorado Northwestern Community College Aviation Technology Flight programs. We have been teaching people how to fly airplanes for over forty years. Our graduates have gone on to aviation careers in corporate, airline and general aviation. Many have become managers, chief pilots and served on various aviation boards.
Why should you join our Aviation Program?

  • "Bridge" agreement with Mesa Air Group which allows our flight students, with minimum experience and our recommendation, to be hired directly into the right seat of a Regional Jet out of school.
  • Great location in the remote area of Northwestern Colorado free of distractions, where you learn "Mountain Flying" on every flight.
  • Small ratio of instructors to students so you have more individual attention.
  • Costs are amongst the lowest in the nation for degree flight programs.
  • Aero Club membership in the National Intercollegiate Flying Association which provides funding for our students to practice for and participate in regional flight competitions.
  • Great Outdoor Recreation Program (ORP) which offers organized trips such as rafting, skiing, hiking, backpacking, spelunking, snow caving and more.
  • Credit for prior learning and flexibility of start times through independent study.
  • Good weather that allows us to fly over 320 days out of the year.
  • Nearly 100% placement for helicopter instructor jobs.
  • Flight instruction outside of the degree program (ACEAviation Continuing Education).
  • We offer airplane and helicopter flight training in our Associate of Applied Science and Associate of General Studies degree programs.

Please consider this my personal invitation for you, your family and friends to check us out. Contact us for an appointment or simply stop by for a visit.

Sincerely,

Jason C. Herkimer

As an Alumni of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, I strive to provide the best flight and academic training in the world, but for a much more reasonable price than Embry-Riddle.

And as the new Program Director for CNCC, I bring Airline Training right here to Rangely, Colorado.  I have two type ratings.  The first is in the Embraer 145 with American Eagle Airlines, the second is in the Airbus A-320 flying internationally for Spirit Airlines.  If your goal is to fly commercially for an airline, to fly international, or just to fly with a company here in Colorado, CNCC might be the place for you.  I have been in the exact position you are in right now.  You dream of looking down from a plane, rather than looking up at an airplane!  We can guide you down the right path to a rewarding career as a Professional Pilot.
