Credit For Prior Learning
PLA allows for the award of Colorado Northwestern Community College credit for previous work experience, education, and training. If you desire to participate in this program, we will need the following information/documentation to complete your PEEP evaluation:
If you have civilian/civil service work related experience, we will need the following information/documentation to complete your PLA evaluation:

A resumeA narrative essay relating your previous work experience with the course(s) for which you wish to receive creditA current job description, as well as descriptions pertaining to jobs held within the last three yearsA letter from your current employer verifying duties and dates of employment. This letter should be on letterhead stationery and should indicate the level or degree of performance on the jobCertificates of training, with lesson plan or course outline (if applicable)Personal documentation, including a chronological listing of your work experienceAny other documentation, that may support the award of specific, credits, (i.e. Law Enforcement Academy Certificate, P.O.S.T. Certificate, American Red Cross First Aid & Personal Safety Certificate)
- You may be required to complete a basic competence examination. There would be an additional cost for this examination
If you have military work related experience, we will need the following information and documentation to complete your PLA evaluation:

Documentation of awarded AFSC(s) or MOS(s) (i.e. AF Form 2096, RIP, DD Form 214, DA Forms 2/2-1, DA Form 2A)Air Force personnel should request that an official CCAF transcript be forwarded to our office
- Copies of military service school certificates that are not listed on the document, which lists your awarded AFSC(s) or MOS(s) (if applicable)
