Marine Science and Oceanography , is the branch of Earth Sciences that studies the Earth's oceans and seas. It covers a wide range of topics, including marine organisms and ecosystem dynamics; ocean currents, waves, and geophysical fluid dynamics; plate tectonics and the geology of the sea floor; and fluxes of various chemical substances and physical properties within the ocean and across its boundaries. As our planet's natural resources face continuing pressure, conservation becomes ever more critical. With its vast expanse and great depths, the largest and most ancient of ecosystems, the planet's oceans, are little understood.
Students successfully completing the program may select to transfer directly to sister universities through in-place articulation agreements. Former Colorado Northwestern students are currently schooling at University of Hawaii Manoa and University of Hawaii Hilo. Current students plan transfers to Hawaii Pacific University.
