Hair in cafeteria food
By Holli Skyles, Reporter
There is a dilemma currently being spoken about amongst the student senate. Throughout 2011’s fall and spring semester, there has been an issue with hair in the cafeteria food. It is not uncommon to hear people speaking about their dinner having hair in it. Aleksei Sharp says, “It is very unappetizing and has been occurring for two years now.” He is a sophomore this year who lives off campus and also states, “I am very glad I don’t eat that food anymore.” Sharp proceeds to speak about the requirement of hair nets and how this same solution was produced last year but nothing was ever done about it.
I spoke with another one of CNCC’s student and this is what she had to say “I have found a hair in my food four or five times and it is disgusting.” Many of the students here and Colorado Northwestern Community College are hoping that some regulations and rules will be established and this article will shed light upon the unappetizing situation.
After researching the laws and regulations, according to a well accredited website, hair restraints are required but that does not mean they must wear full hair protection such as a hairnet. Though there is no law requiring full hair coverage, Aleksei Sharp says, “It would be courteous if the cafeteria staff would just wear the hairnets. After all, who wants hair in their food?”
According to an anonymous source, “I was sitting at the dinner table with Holli Skyles when she pushed her plate away from her and had an upset look on her face. When I asked her what was wrong she pointed in her soup where I saw a hair floating! To make matters worse, she had already eaten more than ¾ of the soup. That is nauseating if you ask me and the cafeteria staff should be required to wear hairnets.”
Everyone I have talked to understands that this is not a regulation but it is asked why the staff will still not wear hairnets even after the controversies at hand. As previously said by Aleksei Sharp, “…has been occurring for two years now.” The students interviewed for this article agree that it is unacceptable that nothing has been done about the hair issue yet.

Q: What do you think about the parking situation at CNCC Rangely?
A: It is like they will give anyone a driver’s license these days! Also, if you have an expensive vehicle that you just have to take up two parking spaces or park at ridiculous angles just to avoid getting door slammed you should park nowhere near the main entrance of buildings.
Q: Can you taste the difference between Pepsi and Coca Cola?
A: Well, right. Pepsi is sweeter. Coca Cola has a more crisp taste. I prefer Coca Cola.
Welcome to life

Everyone struggles to find that inner meaning of who they are, what their purpose in life is, and what they are destined to do. Does anyone really know? I mean yes, we all have our own ideas, our own hopes, our own aspirations, but are those pipe dreams or, really, what’s best for us in the long run? › Continue reading
