Going virtual: seeing classrooms in a new way

Virtual classrooms give you a whole new learning experience through the world wide web.

Web cam, chatroom, students in homes, dozens of labs, and a professor. Any of this sound familiar? Well, for some Colorado Northwestern students, it sounds like a virtual classroom, which is run through Elluminate Live!, a virtual environment with all of those features. How sweet it is to be loved by you: Young students planning to tie the knot

Most students here at CNCC are not thinking about tying the knot. The majority here are focusing on finishing their education and finding the career that will suit them best. Some may even be here for a sport and are trying to get a scholarship to that dream school. Getting married is not a priority for many. › Continue reading

Bob is a master prankster at his college. So one day Frank tells Bob that baseball practice is kicking his butt and he’s going back to his room to take a nap.

Coach spotlight of the week: Adrian Hayes

He went from playing college basketball at Northern Arizona University (NAU) to playing professional ball in Mexico, and then moved on to a few pro leagues in Los Angeles. From there, he become a personal trainer for three or four years in L.A., moved into an assistant coaching position at Colorado Northwestern for a year, then became head men’s basketball coach at CNCC. He has been doing that for the past three years. Coach Adrian Hayes has made basketball his life. › Continue reading

Volleyball clinches first home win in four years

One great milestone was reached at CNCC-Rangely on Oct. 8: the Lady Spartan volleyball team won their first home volleyball match in four years against Sheridan Generals College. The Lady Spartans took Sheridan to five sets and were able to come out with a win. › Continue reading

CNCC hygienists help offer $1.5 M in services

Thousands of patients, $1.5 million worth of work, and dental treatments ranging from simple dental cleanings to root canals and the making of dentures made up this year’s COMOM, or Colorado Mission of Mercy. Colorado Northwestern dental hygienists were in the midst of it all, helping out on Oct.1 in Colorado Springs. › Continue reading
