Sunday 01/10/10

Drive up Kennedy Hill to see that our “Welcome to CNCC” sign is still not lit up, as it has not been for about a month now. How many people does it take to change a light bulb?

Monday 01/11/10

8:00 a.m. came VERY early this morning. Coffee was a must this morning to wake me up. I did learn that drinking too much caffeine makes me shake for a good two hours, but at least I’m awake while operating a drill and riveting gun.

Tuesday 01/12/10

8:00 a.m. came even earlier this morning. Rolled out of bed with only ten minutes before class started. Went through the regular seven hour day of classes, to hurry through a work out, to make it to a 5 o’clock newspaper meeting. Oh yes, the semester had begun, full throttle. On the way back to my room from the meeting, I notice all the strands of Christmas lights are still up. And I bet that if some Grinch hadn’t unplugged many of them, they would all still be lit up.

Wednesday 01/13/10

Is it really already 8:00 a.m.? It feels as if I went to sleep only a few short hours ago. Getting out of bed and making it to class in ten minutes has already become a norm for me. The Riveting gods had it out for me today. Thankfully maintenance classes are one of the few things I have patience for in life. Tonight I went to the “Comedic Lecture,” only to sit on a hard chair and hear about things such as plagiarism and cyber bullying from a lawyer. Does this guy think he’s actually humorous or was “comedic” just out in the title to get more people to come listen?

Thursday 01/14/10

Used my snooze the max amount of allowable times this morning, got ready with one eye opened, and studied for a quiz on the short walk to class. By this point in the week, I have lost track of what day it is. Made my way to the Recreation Center, looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub, only to find out it’s closed…again.

Friday 01/15/10

8:00 a.m. classes on a Friday are not my friend. Needed coffee to keep my eyes open, doesn’t mean my brain was awake though. Once again, drank too much coffee, and might as well have been on crack. Today I learn I am not allowed to clock in twice for a meal, feeding two people. If I am paying for 19 meals a week, shouldn’t I be allowed to use them as I please? The meal company gets the same amount of money either way.

Saturday 01/16/10

Dear Saturday,

Thank you for being a weekend-day, you are my hero. Because of you, I didn’t leave my bed until noon and didn’t find it again until after 2:00 a.m.

Sunday 01/16/10

Plans to meet at noon for an afternoon hike, which turned into a 1 o’clock hike that was delayed because I decided not to open my eyes until noon. The hike turned into climbing all over rocks, and a continuous snow fight. We all came back from the hike to some wonderful home cooked food, and game of Risk that had no mercy and lasted far too long. Is Monday really already tomorrow?

Monday 01/17/10

Woke up, dragged myself to class, got sick, and spent the day in bed. This must have been my body’s way of telling me, “Hey, it’s a holiday, take the day off.”

Tuesday 01/18/10

Today was neverending…
