This week’s athlete: Michelle Einzinger Age: 18 Height: 5′ 10” Hometown: Logan, Utah
Studying: Psychology
Sport: Volleyball
Position: Middle blocker
What got you started in the sport? My dad
About you (free time, hobbies, pets): I have one dog, my favorite color is yellow, I love Pop Rocks, and my favorite game is “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2”
High School awards: Offensive player of the year
How much do you train a day? 3 1/2 hours
What motivates you? Feeling good that I accomplished something and knowing that I can get better.
What advice would you give aspiring athletes? If you don’t love it, then don’t do it. Don’t let anyone force you to do something you don’t want to do.
How long have you participated in your sport? 7 years
What other sports did you play in high school? Softball
What is your biggest accomplishment in your sport? Right now, going to college.
Best advice you were given? That there is always a way to win.
Are you planning to play your sport after graduating from CNCC? Yes, I am. Hopefully I’ll play beach volleyball.
What tasks did you accomplish to get where you are now? Lots of practice, dedication and sacrifice.
Who taught you your skills? Scott and Treva Mcune, my first coaches.
Who are your athlete idols? Kerri Walsh and Phil Dalhausser
Describe your greatest moment of your athletic career. Right now, getting to college.
How do you motivate your teammates? I tell them they are awesome, because they are.
What is your goal as you complete this sport? Go do better things and be the best I can be.
