Ask AB

“I’m embarrassed to bring my ugly boyfriend around my family.”
Mind over Matter
If you care about him, it should not matter what he looks like. Also, if your family loves you and wants you to be happy, they should not care what he looks like. At the end of the day, they aren’t the ones dating him, you are. You may also need to take a step back and look at yourself. Are you really ready for a relationship if you are looking at something as superficial as his looks? There was something that attracted you to him, and if he treats you right, is it worth throwing it all away just because of what other people think? Take time out to evaluate your relationship goals.
“How would you study for a test when you already study as hard as you can and you still do not pass?”
GPA
I would actually go to the teacher and ask him or her, “How would you study for your test?” and “What would you focus on?“ Also, ask about some tutorial times through the Learning Center. It may also help to try and start a study group with a couple of the people in the class who are already passing, but don’t give up because there is always a way.
“Should I still tell my mother happy birthday if it was yesterday but I never said anything?”
???
It is better late than never. If you never tell her, then she will think that you forgot. Let her know that you love her and that you are sorry. Most mothers will forgive. But just for the record, a gift is a really good way to kick things off.
“AB, if you know in your heart that you have found the right person but your anger and insecurity is a big problem in your relationship, what would you do if that person is leaving but you want to keep her around?”
Irrational
If you really love this person, then changing your attitude should be worth it. It’s going to take discipline because making changes to improve your anger and insecurity take time. You might even want to talk to a therapist or friend about the problems that you are having. However, if this person loves you as much as you love her, she will try to understand that you are making the effort to change. Communicate with her about how you feel and see where the both of you stand.
