Ask Angel: Merry Christmas…or not

Angel Mataia
Reporter

Another year is coming to a close, and in about a week-and-a-half Spartans will be home again, enjoying the Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, or Solstice holiday with friends and family.

As shoppers rush from store to store to find the perfect gift and while some couples snuggle up under the mistletoe this year, a few Spartans are a little less than enthused. Finals, flu epidemics, shortage of cash, and a general grinchy sentiment towards the holidays have some students beating the spirit of the season back with a stick. › Continue reading

Ask Angel: For the love of the game

By Angel Mataia

Reporter

Spartans are finding that relationships and sports go hand in hand, each with its own sets of rules and regulations. Some play for fun and the sheer thrill, whereas others are in it to win it, looking for the long haul relationship. Many approach love losses with an attitude of good sportsmanship, making for a clean and easy break while, on the other hand, there are a fair share of sore losers just waiting for their rematch. In love, as in sports, there are cheaters and champions, those who play by the book and others who play dirty. Whether you hate the player or hate the game, if you’re a love MVP or benched due to injury, this edition of “Ask Angel” goes out to you. › Continue reading

Ask Angel

A few weeks on a small campus can seem like a lot longer when it comes to relationships as many Spartans have found out this week. Though Halloween isn’t for another month, with some people not all is as it seems or as it should be, sorting through tricks and treats becomes pretty messy when you don’t know exactly what you’re dealing with. The masks and gloves are off in this edition of Ask Angel as best friends turn into ex friends and hidden agendas come to light. This week Spartans prove that Batman isn’t the only person who deals with the occasional two-faced adversary and whether you’re faking the funk or playing the fool, this one’s for you.
