Basketball goes to Idaho

   Colorado Northwestern Community College men and women’s basketball teams traveled to Idaho on February 7th and were on the road for five days. CNCC basketball teams give their all in last home games

   The CNCC Spartan’s men’s and women’s basketball teams have had a long competitive season, with both good and bad outcomes.

   Although the teams lost their last two home games on Feb. 18 and 19 against two tough teams, Snow College (women’s final score 60-67, men’s 64-69) and Salt Lake (women’s final score 48-58, men’s 48-81), they still played their hearts out and never hung their heads. › Continue reading

This is Sparta! Basketball teams push through long stretch of road games

While we were in our warm houses sipping hot chocolate, and opening up gifts, the only thing that the CNCC Spartans were opening was a winter break tournament. Only carrying 10 players during the current road trip, the Spartans took on a few teams. Both the men’s and women’s teams played Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Jan. 7, Snow Community College Jan. 8, Northern Idaho Jan.13, and the Number 1 ranked team in the country, Southern Idaho, on Jan.15. While both teams lost their games and the road trip was tough, both players and coaches saw positives. › Continue reading

Basketball: A family sport

So far, the basketball season for both the men’s and ladies’ Spartan teams is looking good. The men, with a record of 6-7, and the ladies, with a record of 5-8, have already increased their wins from last year, which saw a men’s record of 1-30 a ladies’ record of 3-28. › Continue reading

Spartans lose against Idaho teams

This past weekend CNCC hosted home games to both North Idaho College and College of Southern Idaho. The games were hard fought but the both Spartans programs lost.

The Lady Spartans came out ready to play on Friday Feb. 5 at Hefley Gym. The Lady Spartans were ready to come out and show the Cardinals that they were not a 40-point losing team.

“We lost pretty badly against them in Idaho,” says sophomore Kelsey Samuelson. “We wanted to show them that we are not that team that showed up back in Idaho.” › Continue reading
