Have you ever noticed those few people at your school who are involved in everything? Well, now it’s time for these people to be recognized. Two people from Colorado Northwestern have been chosen to receive the statewide Rising Star Award.

This award is a part of the State Student Advisory Council. Thirteen other community colleges are doing this; each college chooses two students to receive this award. The students and faculty of the school vote on which two students deserve to receive this award. The Rising Star is very important because most of the students who do a lot of good may not be getting noticed. So this is good recognition for the students who deserve it. › Continue reading

It’s a Zombie Kind of World

The final battle of the Humans Vs. Zombies event took place on the Rangely campus last Friday, Dec. 3. Although the humans were successful in the final mission, there were no female survivors. The zombies triumphed. The game, which spanned four days last week and involved several different activities or missions, is basically “a giant game of tag with Nerf guns,”said organizer and network support analyst Ted Shonts. Around 50 students, faculty and staff played the game. Go online to www.spartantimes.org for more photos of the HVZ scavenger hunt. Photo by Ted Shonts
