What good teachers do: Make an impact

By Peter Targos, Reporter

Did you ever hear the saying, “They put their shoes on the same way we do”? While that quote generally applies to athletes, it can also apply to teachers.

We students sometimes think that teachers are like weird creatures from outer space who cannot connect with us on a personal level. Here at CNCC, however, teachers strive to not only teach us but make an impact in our lives. These students commented on which teacher has made an impression and why. › Continue reading

It’s a Zombie Kind of World

The final battle of the Humans Vs. Zombies event took place on the Rangely campus last Friday, Dec. 3. Although the humans were successful in the final mission, there were no female survivors. The zombies triumphed. The game, which spanned four days last week and involved several different activities or missions, is basically “a giant game of tag with Nerf guns,”said organizer and network support analyst Ted Shonts. Around 50 students, faculty and staff played the game. Go online to www.spartantimes.org for more photos of the HVZ scavenger hunt. Photo by Ted Shonts

But you don’t have to fear allergy season this spring, because I have found some of the best and cheapest medications and where to find them for all types of allergies. › Continue reading

It is 3:00 a.m., you’re stopped on the side of the road, and it looks like it is about to rain, but you can’t get anywhere because lucky you, your tire shredded and you don’t have a spare. That’s not to mention your phone has no signal, you don’t have a friend nearby and you are halfway between nowhere and…somewhere. › Continue reading
