AAS – Accounting

The Accounting Program offered through Colorado Northwestern Community College provides students with the training they need to work as bookkeepers, accounts receivable or payable clerks, and other entry-level positions in business. In today's job marketplace accounting skills are an advantage. In retails sales, management, manufacturing, and even in health professions, an understanding of basic economics and accounting is a must. CNCC offers a full range of accounting and economics courses designed to meet undergraduate requirements for degree transfers. But more than that, most of the courses are offered online. That means you belong to a group (cohort) of students in the same program. You join each class online live, and interact with the instructor, your classmates and the material.

Here are some of the possible class topics:
  • Accounting Principles
  • Income Tax
  • Business Basics
  • Professional Communication
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microcomputers
  • Micro and Macro Economics

The accounting field is broad and there is a wide range of possibilities, from Banking and Finance, to Accounting, to Small Business, to Economics. While there is plenty of overlap in the content of these programs, it is important to know where you want to go. We suggest you meet with the Accounting Department to discover your strengths and desires.
