Application Procedure

Application Deadline - March 15

Getting Started:

  • Apply to CNCC

  • Send Test Scores (ACT, SAT, and/or Accuplacer) to the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or take the Accuplacer test through CNCC. Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to set up your test.
  • Submit an Official Transcript to the CNCC This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • 8 hour observation and/or office experience
  • A reference letter from the office you did your observation must complete the Reference Form. (Simply copy and paste this link to and email and send to your reference. Upon competition, the form will be sent directly to the Dental Hygiene Admissions Committee.)
  • Letter of Self-Recommendation addressing the following:
    • Attach a typed 400-700 word letter in APA format, addressing the following:
    • Reasons for your interest in dental hygiene
    • Life experiences and personal qualities that make you believe that dental hygiene study is appropriate for you.
    • Personal strengths and challenges as you anticipate becoming a dental hygienist.
    • Something you learned while completing your required office experience. 
  • A CPR course must be completed prior to entry into the Dental Hygiene Program. If accepted, more details will be in your acceptance packet. This is not required for entry into the GA program, but must be completed before beginning the Dental Hygiene courses in the fall. 
    • This certificate must be endorsed by the American Heart Association and must be include Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) program. 
  • Read and understand Performance Standards for Dental Hygiene
  • Apply to the Dental Hygiene Guaranteed Admission Program - Application Form
    • Application Deadline: March 15
    • Receive acceptance/non-acceptance letter: April 1
    • Deadline for letter of intent & deposit: April 15
    • Deadline for register for classes: May 1

Transfer Courses (Up to 9 Cr. for 1-year plan, 15 Cr. for 2-year plan) - A matrix listing transferable courses from nearby colleges is available (Transfer Matrix) 

Upon acceptance to the program you will need to:

  • Send a non-refundable $500 deposit which will be applied towards first year tuition and fees in the Dental Hygiene Program
    • Payment can be made by sending a cashiers check or calling cashier with credit card information.

  • SADHA - $75.00
  • Licensure exams - $2,200.00
