Associate of Sciences

Associate of Sciences (AS)

AS1

An Associate of Science (AS) degree  at CNCC will prepare students to transfer to a four-year institution as a junior where they will be prepared to complete their Bachelor of Science program. In an AS degree you will complete 60 credits including a minimum of 36 credits in math and the sciences.

Unlike most colleges/universities, all our courses are taught by faculty, never grad-students, who subject matter experts with years of real-world experiences. CNCC prides itself in our high-level instructor engagement and our small class sizes, which means more personal interaction with faculty than at other colleges and universities.

A student completing an AS degree at CNCC will develop analytical and communication skills that they can transfer to another four-year institution or use in their career after graduating from CNCC. AS students will have the mathematical and scientific skills to think critically, problem solve, and write to meet the demands of an evolving job market. On a personal level, AS student will grow their passion for math and sciences with a variety of hand=on experiences.

The core science faculty focus on preparing students for a number of healthcare related fields, and offer plans of study for Pre-Dental Hygiene, Pre-Nursing, and offer the core courses required for many other healthcare related occupations. Pre-Heath students will benefit from our on-sight human anatomy lab that brings senior level experiences to our freshmen and sophomores.

Students interested in Paleontology benefit from an on-sight federal fossil repository and local dig sights. Our Marine Sciences experiences include exploring local ancient ocean beds, integrated SCUBA courses, and capstone field experiences in Florida or California.

CNCC has a variety of AS degrees that are available both on campus and online.
