What is a non-credit class?

Non-Credit classes do not qualify for college credit or count as progress in completing a degree program. Instead, learners receive a skill or experience. Online classes completed with a minimum test score result in a certificate of completion. Many career training programs include testing or a test voucher used to obtain a nationally-recognized professional credential.

What if I’ve completed non-credit training then realize I want to get a degree?

Colorado Northwestern Community College has a number of processes that allow us to recognize prior work and study. To learn what qualifies for college credit start by scheduling an appointment to speak with one of our recruitment and admissions specialists by calling (800) 562-1105

When does my class start?

Our online courses were designed for flexible enrollment, meaning you can enroll at any time of the year, however, courses may have a specific session start date. If a course has a session start date, this is an “Instructor-Led” course. Courses without a session start date are “Self-Paced” courses.

Instructor-Led courses are designed for structured group learning. These courses feature an instructor-moderated discussion board so you can interact with your session cohort. Self-Paced Tutorial courses are designed for completely independent learning, without instructor moderation or group discussion.

How do I get help?

If you have course content-related questions, Instructor-Led courses feature a “Discussion Area” where you can engage with your instructor. Any questions regarding drops, transfers, refunds, progress reports, or password and email changes are handled by our Student Support department.

Will the college find me a job?

While career training and personal development are proven ways to increase your chances for better employment, the college does not guarantee job placement.

We offer a place for students to see current job openings. Visit Students Jobs Board.

Students enrolled in our online Career Training Programs also receive access to a virtual career center full of additional resources.
