Our Goal

The goal of the CNCC Outdoor Recreation Program is to foster a love for nature through student experiences that promote personal growth, environmental stewardship, and a inclusive culture. We are dedicated to providing outdoor activities for all experience levels, encouraging teamwork, and inspiring lifelong connections with the outdoors.

Spartan Climbing Gym

The Spartan Climbing Gym on the Rangely campus is available for students and community members. Located behind the Yeager Building the climbing gym is open M-T 6-9 pm and Thursdays 7-10 pm during the school year. A selection of climbing shoes and harnesses are available for use.

Ice Tower

Each winter, the ORP builds a 50' ice climbing tower on the Rangely campus. We supply boots, crampons, ice tools, helmets and harnesses as well as instruction to students interested in trying ice climbing.

Gear Rentals 

Gear rental is available free of charge to students! We have lake gear, paddleboards, and camping equipment available to students anytime. Contact the ORP Coordinator via phone or email to rent equipment!
